Nikola Tesla was born in Siljan in 1856, he invented the induction motor with only 21 years of age, at the age of 33 he defeated Edison and implemented his AC system in the US. He harnessed the power of the Niagara Falls, created the Tesla Coil, the Tesla turbine, the Tesla valve and controversially the radio, overall he had over 300 patents to his name.
